PEHLAY AKSHAR TRAINING PROGRAM:

The program aims at improving learning outcomes in classrooms, by helping Government school teachers improve their teaching practices and strengthen their subject matter knowledge. The program equips the teachers with modern and innovative pedagogies, and behavioural  techniques. The interactive training program  is designed to bring about a change in conducting classroom sessions, thereby ensuring a conducive and safe environment to learn and grow.

The program utilizes a three-pronged approach for training, wherein the teachers are engaged through:

  • Teachers’ training workshops,
  • Weekly Peer learning sessions (Self Help Groups), and
  • a digital tool kit (Pehlay Akshar Mobile App)

to support training and provide continuous learning opportunities.

PEHLAY AKSHAR LIBRARY TRAINING PROGRAM:

The program aims to set up advanced model libraries, with infrastructure, books, and other equipment, to act as the centre for all learning for students and teachers. The program imparts training to teachers in library management, so that they are able to optimally use the resources provided. Students learning interventions are also facilitated.

PROJECT SWAYAM HEALTH:

Project Swayam Health aims at imparting training to women from less privileged background to be trained in skills that will enable them to procure jobs in the healthcare sector. Under this project (formerly known as Sanjeevani), we also provide opportunities for women and young girls to take up alternate livelihood in the healthcare space. Through our training partners, specialised courses like General Duty Assistants, Patient Care Assistants etc. are imparted to the beneficiaries. Special focus is given towards placing these trained women so that they can be economically empowered. We have trained more than 500 women to take up employment as Healthcare professionals since the inception of this project.

PROJECT SWAYAM DRIVE:

Project Swayam Drive focuses on training women and youth from marginalized backgrounds for careers in commercial driving. With a special focus on women, it helps them build careers in the traditionally male dominated sector.
The program currently focuses on 2-wheeler driving, enabling careers as delivery agents in the retail sector. The course gives women and youth comprehensive training in driving, mechanics, spoken English, customer interaction, grooming, first aid and self-defence skills. RPG Foundation, through implementation partners, helps the trainees get driving licenses and facilitates placements in jobs.
The initiative was started in FY 20-21 at Navi Mumbai Location, and around 50 beneficiaries have completed their training.

ROJECT SWAYAM DIGITAL:

RPGLS has initiated support to THP in the current financial year.

COVID 19 RESPONSE:

Our COVID 19 Response initiatives included distribution of food and medicines to our employees and communities in and around our plant location.
In a unique public private partnership with the National Health Mission, RPG Foundation, with support from RPGLS has set up 3 Fever Clinics in semi urban Maharashtra. These clinics, made of steel portable cabins, are sturdy and well ventilated and built to last beyond the pandemic. Serviced by doctors and nurses from the NHM, the clinics have provided OPD and COVID testing to over 40 thousand beneficiaries. The clinics have been successful in segregating COVID and Non-COVID beneficiaries, helping curb the virus.
